Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on the additional proposal submitted by the 2nd respondent in proceedings Na.Ka.No.9917/2013/E1 dated 10.10.2017 and in proceedings Na.Ka.No.9917/2013/E1 dated 10.07.2019 and in proceedings Na.Ka.No.9917/2013/E1 dated 09.08.2019 for regularising the service of the petitioners within a stipulated period of time.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The case of the petitioners is that they were initially appointed as Cholera Mazdoors in various Panchayat Unions in Nagapattinam District and subsequently on 12.07.2012, the District Collector Nagapattinam, issued individual orders dated 22.08.2012 appointing the petitioners in the post of Office Assistant/Night Watchman in various Panchayat Union in the District of Nagapattinam. Subsequently, the District Collector, Nagapattinam, has forwarded the proposal for regularisation of the petitioners' service vide proceedings dated 09.07.2014, 10.12.2014, 26.02.2016 and 26.06.2019 to the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, who in turn, has forwarded the proposal to the 1st respondent. The petitioners had also submitted their representations to the Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj on 02.02.2017 and 25.06.2018 as well as reminder on 18.09.2019 to regularise their service.

However, the petitioners' representations were not considered by the respondents till date. Hence this writ petition.

4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners' representation and pass appropriate orders within the reasonable time. 2/6

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, this Court hereby directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.06.2018 as well as reminder dated 18.09.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
