Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents, particularly respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission to built a temple of Lord Ganapathy at Adi Dravidar Colony at East Kattukottaai, Oduvankurichi on the eastern side, i.e. adjacent to S.No.108/3A1 and adjacent to 5.0 meter on the western side, left a piece of land, to an extent of 0.04 cents (1725 sq.ft.) for the public purpose of the allotters/beneficiaries of the said 118 plots on the basis of the representations sent by the petitioner and others on 16.09.2024. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Petition seeking a direction to respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission to build a temple on public land cannot be entertained, as, no such permission can be granted under the existing laws.
2. At this stage, learned counsel seeks liberty to withdraw the petition. Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. There shall be no order as to costs.
