O R D E R

The petitioner herein apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982 r/w 7(i)a(ii) of E.C.Act, 1955, in Crime No.167 of 2025 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner had illegally transported 4200 kgs of PDS rice in a vehicle bearing No.TN24AT6573. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, apart from this case, petitioner has four similar previous cases. Hence, he opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the nature of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 2/4
