ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.09.2023 and direct the respondent Sub-Registrar to go once to the residence of the 1/5

petitioner, to register and complete the process of registration of Settlement Deed and Will Deed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is aged about 85 years and she is suffering from many health issues and her husband expired on 18.11.2016 at the age of 84 years. On account of the petitioner's illness, she intends to execute a will deed in respect of her immovable property by way of executing a Will Deed and also intends to execute a Sale Deed in respect of her bank accounts, etc., and hence she requested the Sub-Registrar, to register the said documents at her residence. The petitioner was admitted in MGM Hospital, Chennai, for a week as her health condition became worse and got discharged. She addressed a representation dated 25.09.2023 to the respondent through registered post. However, the respondent did not consider her representation. Hence, this writ petition.

Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has taken notice and submitted that if a specific time frame is fixed by this Court, the respondent Sub-Registrar would go to the residence of the petitioner and complete the entire formalities of registration. 2/5

Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record. 5.

Considering the facts and circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to complete the registration process in the manner as undertook above by the learned Additional Government Pleader, by going once to the house of the petitioner, in accordance with law as quickly as possible within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading of this order. No costs.
