Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the impugned order passed by the first respondent by letter No.1086/S.B.II/2019 dated 17.10.2019 rejecting the permission for a peaceful protest on 20.10.2019 near Varadharaja theatre junction, Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm or any other of like nature and quash the same directing the respondents to immediately provide with the permission to conduct the street corner meeting/protest considering the representation in the area designated for regular protest in Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat, near Varadharaja theatre junction, on 3.11.2019 from 4.00 p, to 6.00 pm with permission to use chamiyana due to rain and PA systems and dispose the petitioner's representation expeditiously.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by SENTHILKUMAR RAMAMOORTHY,J.) The writ petitioner challenges the rejection of permission to conduct a peaceful protest in Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat and prays for a direction to the respondents to grant permission to conduct such protest.

2. The proposed agitation was scheduled to be held in the year 2019 and, therefore, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition.
