Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.07.2023 requesting to enlist Village No-70, Elapakkam Village, falls under the Rettamangalam Panchayat Union, Maduthranthakam Taluk, Chengalpattu District in the protected Vedanthankal Bird's Sanctuary Villages list.

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.V.Vijayakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Karthik Jagannath, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 6.
2. The prayer is made for enlisting the village No.70, Elapakkam Village in the protected villages list.
3. It is for the authorities to consider the genuineness of the representation filed by the petitioner and about the distance covering the lake area and the protected zone.
4. The petitioner has given a representation on 26.07.2023. In case, the petitioner has given a representation to the second respondent, and if the second respondent is competent to decide the same, the second respondent may consider the representation, on its own merits and in accordance with law and policy, preferably within a period of nine months.
5. In the light of that, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.30022 of 2023 is closed.
