ORDER

The petitioner/accused in Crime No.17 of 2019 had filed this petition seeking for a direction to the respondent to complete investigation in Crime No.17 of 2019 and to file a final report within a time frame. 1/4

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner earlier filed a similar petition in Crl.O.P.No.22614 of 2025 and this Court, by the order dated 14.08.2025 recording the undertaking given by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that within a period of two weeks final report would be filed, disposed of the petition. But till date, final report is yet to be filed. Hence the present petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that in this case investigation completed on 13.08.2025 and final report filed before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kallakurichi. In view of the same, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor gave an undertaking before the earlier proceedings in Crl.O.P.No.22614 of 2025. Thereafter, final report returned for want of jurisdiction. Now the final report/charge sheet filed before the learned Principal District Judge, Kallakurichi on 25.08.2025. 2/4

4.In view of the above, the learned Principal District Judge, Kallakurichi is directed to take the charge sheet on file without further delay, if it is otherwise in order.

5.With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
