ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to register the petitioner's complaint dated 19.07.2021 within the stipulated time.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in the month of June 2016, one Sekar contacted the petitioner and asked him for financial help; since the said person was repeatedly nagging the petitioner, the petitioner gave a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- as loan to the said Sekar; during the second week of June 2016, through a cheque and that has been encashed by Sekar; however, the said Sekar did not return the money and give evasive replies to the petitioner; since the petitioner was cheated by the said Sekar, the petitioner had given a written complaint to the second respondent police on 19.07.2021. The grievance of the petitioner is that the second respondent police has kept the complaint pending without even assigning a C.S.R. Number and hence this petition has been filed seeking

direction to the respondents to register the First Information Report.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, current paper enquiry has been initiated and appropriate action will be taken shortly. It is further submitted that there is likelihood for settlement between the parties since the matter has arisen out of money transaction.

5. In view of the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate, I feel it is appropriate to direct the second respondent to complete the enquiry.

6. Accordingly, the second respondent is directed to complete the enquiry on the complaint given by the petitioner and do the needful in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is at liberty to appear before the second respondent for enquiry.

7. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed.
