This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioners on 24.08.2024 wherein the petitioners have sought for promotion as Health 2/5

Inspectors Grade II with all attendant benefits. 2.

Heard Mr.K.Raja, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Additional Government Pleader for 1st respondent and Mrs.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing counsel for Respondents 2 and 3. 3.

The case of the petitioners is that they were appointed as basic health workers in Chennai Corporation in the year 2008. All of them have completed 15 years of service in the same post without any promotional opportunity in the year 2023.

The grievance of the petitioners is that they are entitled for being considered for promotion to the post of Health Inspector Grade II. They made a representation in this regard. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 5.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to 3/5

the 2nd respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on its own merits and in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.

There shall be a direction to the petitioners to submit individual representation to the 2nd respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.
