PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the learned IV Additional Judge, City Civil Court at Madras to dispose the case in S.C. No.172 of 2015 within the time fixed by this Court.

ORDER
The crime was occurred in the year 2014, wherein the petitioner and others facing trial for grave offence of murder. Even after a lapse of 10 years, the trial has not commenced and therefore, the petition is filed seeking for a direction to the IV Additional City Civil Court to expedite the trial in S.C. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Page No.1/2

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submits that witness summons issued and the next date of hearing is fixed as 07.11.2023.
3. The IV Additional Judge, City Civil Court, is directed to take up the trial on a priority basis and complete the trial within a period of 60 days. The progress of the trial shall be reported to this Court once in 15 days.
