ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent Police to register the complaint of the petitioner dated 30.10.2021 under the SC/ST Act.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner belongs to Scheduled Caste community and he is being harassed by his neighbour by name Sellappan; the said Sellappan is frequently abusing the petitioner using his caste name; in this regard, the petitioner had given a complaint initially on 22.08.2019 and subsequently on 30.10.2021; but so far no action has been taken.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, current paper enquiry has been initiated in CSR No.378 of 2022 and the same is pending.

5. Since the complaint has been given as early as on 30.10.2021 and taking into account of the fact the neighbour of the petitioner is harassing him, I feel it is appropriate for the 3rd respondent to complete the enquiry and do the needful in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observation, this Criminal Original petition is disposed of.
