Contempt Petition filed under Sections 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondents herein for their willful disobedience of the order dated 07.08.2024 passed by this Court in W.P.No.21707 of 2024.

O R D E R

[Made by S. M. SUBRAMANIAM, J.,] The contempt petition has been instituted to punish the respondents for their wilful disobedience of the order dated 07.08.2024 passed in W.P.No.21707 of 2024.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader would submit that pursuant to the directions of this Court, the revenue authorities conducted an inspection and survey, identified the encroachments and issued notices under Section 7 of "the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 (Tamil Nadu Act III of 1905)" {hereinafter "1905 Act" for the sake of brevity}. After affording opportunity to the encroachers, final notices under Section 6 of 1905 Act were issued. It is further submitted that aggrieved Page Nos.2/4

encroachers have preferred statutory appeals under Section 10 of 1905 Act before the District Collector, which are pending.

3. That being the factum, the respondents are directed to proceed with all further enforcement actions, strictly in accordance with law and subject to the final orders to be passed by the District Collector in the pending appeals filed under Section 10 of 1905 Act.
