O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the third respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 27.10.2022 requesting for fixation of seniority in the Transport and Road Safety Department.

2. Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal in the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner is presently working as Deputy Commissioner in the Transport and Road Safety Department. According to him, for nearly 30 years, the seniority in the department has not been fixed. In such circumstances, he has given a representation on 27.10.2022 requesting the respondents to fix the seniority. Since the representation has not been considered till date, he has filed this writ petition.

4. Heard Mr.P.Chandrasekar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's 2/5

representation dated 27.10.2022 is considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the third respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 27.10.2022 requesting for fixation of seniority in the Transport and Road Safety Department within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order. The second respondent shall cooperate with the third respondent to enable the third respondent to pass final orders pursuant to the direction given by this Court today.

7. With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
