ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to complete the investigation in Crime No.62 of 2024 and file the final report within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that on the false promise given by the accused that they could stay at their premium hotels under their sister concern Dove Vacation, free of cost for a period of 10 years and they would also be eligible for RCI Membership for two years, remitted a sum of Rs.1,74,000/- and also paid the annual maintenance amount of Rs.9438/-. Despite the above above payment made by the petitioner, the accused neither booked room for their stay nor returned the money received from the petitioner. In this regard the petitioner had given a complaint to the respondent. On the basis of the complaint, though a case has been registered for the offences under sections 406, 420 and 120B of IPC in the year 2024, there is no progress in the investigation. Hence, the present petition has been filed for aforesaid relief.

3. The learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] on instructions submitted that the investigation has been almost completed and they will file the final report within a period of eight weeks.

4. In view of the above submissions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to expedite investigation and file the final report within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
