O R D E R

This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed to quash the order passed by the respondent/Police dated 12.08.2025 rejecting their request to grant permission to conduct dance programme in their religious festival and consequently direct the respondent/police to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting cultural programs scheduled to be held on 02.09.2025 between 6.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. in Punitha Annai Velankanni Kadal Madha Alayam at Singaravelar Nagar Main Road, Royapuram, Chennai and further to give protection by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.08.2025.

2. At the outset, this Court is of the view that the Inspector of Police is manning the law and order issue and he is the best person to assess the ground reality and pass orders. When any such dance programme in the name of cultural activity leads to law and order issues, it is for them to take appropriate action. Therefore, I do not find any merits in this petition.
