Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to dispose the application dated 21.12.2021 pending on the file of the first respondent within the stipulated time.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to dispose the application dated 21.12.2021.

2. Mr.P.Anandakumar, learned Government Advocate, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner had changed its registered office from Chennai South to Chennai Central. Further, the petitioner came to know that their society has been declared as defunct and a notification was also published in the Government Gazette vide No.20 dated 15.05.2019. Hence, with regard to the removal of the defunct status, the petitioner had made an application dated 21.12.2021. However, the said representation was not at all considered by the respondent till date. Hence, the present writ petition.

5. In reply, the learned counsel for the respondent would submit that considering the facts and circumstances of the case, an appropriate order may be passed by this Court.

6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the respondents and also perused the materials available on record. 3/5

7. Upon considering the above submissions, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 21.12.2021 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
