ORDER
The allegation in this case is that on 17.12.2013, at a bus stand, a gold chain (11⁄2 sovereigns) was snatched from the defacto complainant. The accused was immediately apprehended, the chain was recovered and it was returned to the complainant.
2. After coming out on bail, the accused absconded. Despite best efforts, summons could not be served and Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) has been pending since 2016. The case is of the year 2013. Even if the NBW is Page No.1 of 3
executed in the future, it would violate the right to a speedy trial and no useful purpose will be served in keeping the matter pending.
3. Accordingly, the proceedings in C.C.No.900086 of 2016 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No. II, Ariyalur Taluk, Ariyalur stands quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stands disposed of. 21.08.2025 nsl electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
