ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.D.Murugan, learned counsel for Mr.B.Manoharan, learned counsel for the petitioner; and, Mr.T.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 3.

2. Learned Government Advocate submits that there is excess space for burying the dead body in Kathiyawadi Village Field No.393.

3. Burial cannot take place in any land except the licensed

premises. It is for the petitioner to apply for licence at a particular place or allotment of place for burial with the Government authorities.

4. The petitioner may make an application to the Government authorities for the said purpose, which application would be considered by the authorities on its own merits and in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within six months from the date of receipt of the application.

5. With these observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
