ORDER

The allegation in this case is that on 21.02.2020, the accused persons, under the leadership of P.R.Pandian and Bakery Bala @ Krishnan, staged a road blockade near PNR Mines on the V.Kaikatti-Ariyalur Road without permission, thereby causing obstruction to traffic. A case was registered in Crime No. 29 of 2020 for the offence under Section 143 and 341 of Indian Penal Code, 1860.

2. It is clear that the occurrence was in the nature of a protest and no serious offence is made out. In any event, the accused have been facing proceedings since 2020. Any further continuance of trial would only impinge upon the right to speedy trial .

3. For all the above reasons, the proceedings in S.T.C.No.220 of 2021 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No. I, Ariyalur Taluk, Ariyalur stand quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stands disposed of. 21.08.2025 nsl electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
