Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.08.2017 requesting not to install the statue of Selvi J.Jayalalithaa in the premises of Kancheepuram Municipality office or any other public place in Kancheepuram.

ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner has filed the writ petition seeking direction on the respondents not to install the statue in the premises of Kancheepuram Municipality Office.

2. Learned counsel for the fifth respondent has placed on record a communication dated 28.08.2017, wherein the State Government has refused permission to install statues in Municipality Offices.

3. In the light of that, the apprehension of the petitioner does not survive. The writ petition, as such, is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.24078 of 2017 is closed.
