This Writ Petition has been filed to call for the records relating to the impugned order of the second respondent in Proceedings No.976/Po.1/2018 dated 31.05.2019 and quash the same and direct the respondents to issue appropriate order directing that the petitioner would be deemed to have appointed on 02.07.2018 and reckon the said date as date of appointment for the purpose of declaration of probation and grant him all consequential benefits.

2. Heard Mr.P.Manoj Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs.S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader for R1 and perused the materials available on record.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been selected to the post of Assistant by direct recruitment Page No.2 of 4

through Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Group - II A Services and was posted at Vazhapadi Transport Office. It appears that he had requested the Superintendent, Central Prison, Vellore to relieve him from the post of Assistant Jailor, Sub Jail, Arakkonam and he has also been relieved from the said post on 18.12.2024.

4. In view of the above development, the relief sought by the petitioner himself has become infructuous and hence, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
