ORDER

(1)Mr.V.Manoharan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. With the consent of both the learned counsels, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. (2)The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondent to pass early orders on the grant of a minibus permit, on the route Tirupur Railway station to Mudalipalayam Pirivu, covered by vehicle bearing Registration No.KA 19C 6659(since assigned re-registration number TN 39DF 1242). (3)The petitioner is an existing permit holder and was granted Mini Bus permit for the vehicle No.KA 19C 6659 (since assigned re-registration number TN 39DF 1242) to operate on the route Veerapandi Pirivu to Sakthi Avenue. Pursuant to the Notification in G.O.Ms.33, Home [Tr.I] dated 24.01.2025 superseded by another Notification in G.O.Ms.No.198, Home [Tr.I] dated 28.04.2025, the respondent identified and surveyed various routes in Tiruppur

District and called for applications for grant of additional permit by issuing Gazette Notification. The petitioner states that under Sl.No.4 sub-clause [XI] in the Notification, the Regional Transport Authority was empowered to consider the grant of additional permits based on passenger density or potential. The petitioner further states that the existing permit holders of the Mini buses were given preference to claim additional grant of permits on the routes granted to such permit holders. The petitioner therefore filed an application on 18.07.2025, for grant of additional permit on the alternate route, i.e., Tiruppur Railway Station to Mudalipalayam Pirivu. However, the said application was not considered and is kept pending. Therefore, the petitioner was constrained to file the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

(4)Heard both sides and also perused the materials placed on record. (5)In view of the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, a direction is issued to the respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's application dated 18.07.2025 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four

weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (6)The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. 22-08-2025 AP Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes To 1.The Regional Transport Authority Tirupur Region South, Collectorate, Tiruppur
