... Respondent Prayer:- Contempt petition has been filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondent for committing grave contempt and gross disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.8688 of 2023 dated 01.02.2024.

ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for noncompliance with the order dated 01.02.2024, passed by this Court in W.P.No.8688 of 2023, which directed the first respondent/University to promote the petitioner to the post of Assistant Professor Stage II, and subsequent promotions, along with all attendant service benefits. 2.

The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent submitted that against the very same issue, for the very same University, two batch of Writ Appeals in W.A.Nos.1552, 1558, 1559, 1562, 1565 and 1571 of 2025 and W.A.Nos.1308 to 1310 and 1322 to 1326 of 2025 were preferred before the Division Bench of this Court, wherein, by Judgment dated 11.06.2025 and 16.06.2025, respectively, the time was extended for compliance of the order passed by the learned Single Judge for a further period of eight weeks.

3. Further, learned Additional Advocate General pointed out that as per the order of this Court passed by the learned Single Judge, the Registrar, Bharathiyar University, has promoted the appellants/petitioners, including the

present petitioner, to their respective promoted posts. An attested copy of the proceedings, vide Proceedings No.E7/CAS Pro./Revised/3834-1/2025 dated 21.06.2025, regarding the promotion of the petitioner, was submitted before this Court and taken on record. Insofar as the other attendant benefits are concerned, they are under process and will be complied with within the stipulated period as prescribed in the order of the Division Bench of this Court.

In view of the above submission made by the Additional Advocate General, the time for complying with the order dated 01.02.2024 made in W.P.No.8688 of 2023, is extended for a further period of eight weeks, in line with the similar orders passed in the aforementioned writ appeals by the Division Bench of this Court.

Therefore, the respondent is directed to comply with the order dated 01.02.2024 passed by this Court in W.P.No.8688 of 2023, on or before 06.08.2025.

It is made clear that if the respondent fails to comply with the order on or before 06.08.2025, the contempt petition shall revive automatically.

With the above observation and directions, the Contempt Petition is closed.
