ORDER

(1)Mrs.C.Meera Arumugam, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. With the consent of both the learned counsels, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

(2)The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to grant permit to the petitioner on the route Singalandhapuram Kadaiveethi to Rasipuram Bus Stand based on the Notification published by the 1st respondent in Namakkal Official Gazette on 31.07.2025, forthwith, pursuant to the petitioner's application dated 07.08.2025. (3)The petitioner states that the Government of Tamil Nadu issued a Notification in G.O.Ms.No.33, Home [TR-1] Department, dated 24.01.2025, which was subsequently notified by another Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.198, of the very same Department dated 28.02.2025, expanding the Mini Bus Scheme introduced in the year 1998. The petitioner states that

under the new Scheme, the existing holders of Mini Bus permits, were given opportunity to migrate their existing permits and for new Mini Bus Permits. The petitioner further states that he submitted an application on 07.08.2025, for grant of permit on the route Singalnadhapuram Kadai Veethi to Rasipuram Bus Stand. The petitioner states that upon receipt of the said application, the 2 nd respondent scrutinised the same and directed the Motor Vehicles Inspector of the Department to conduct a survey along with the other officials regarding the compliance with the norms provided therefor, for migration of existing permits.

The petitioner further states that the Motor Vehicles Inspector inspected the route along with the other officials and having satisfied himself with the compliance of the norms, submitted his Report to the 2 nd respondent for further action. However, thereafter there was no progress on the petitioner's application and hence, the petitioner was constrained to file the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief. (4)Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. (5)The facts of the case are undisputed.

Report from the Motor Vehicles Inspector, this Court is inclined to direct the nd respondent to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, the petitioner's application dated 07.08.2025, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (6)The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction.
