ORDER

This petition is filed to direct the respondent to register the case on the petitioner's complaint dated 07.11.2022 which is pending before the

respondent.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner and one proposed accused by name Gobinath were doing business in foreign exchange. It is the allegation of the petitioner that the said Gobinath had availed a loan for a sum of Rs.1,45,00,000/- from the petitioner and did not repay the same and subsequently, he got absconded and went to Dubai along with certain valuables of the company. Hence the petitioner has given a police complaint on 07.11.2022 to the respondent and on which no action has been taken. Hence, the present has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent to register the complaint given by the petitioner.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that since the money transaction exceeds Rs.1,00,00,000/-, the respondent police has to seek a direction from the Commissioner of Police, Chennai either to transfer the matter to Central Crime Branch (CCB) or Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

4. Considering the above submissions, the respondent police is directed to forward the complaint given by the petitioner or any other letter to their higher authority seeking transfer of case, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed.
