Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus forbearing the first respondent from awarding the 9th respondent with the Sahitya Akademy Translation Prize, 2016 for his book "One Part Woman" translation of 8th respondent's Tamil novel "Maadhorubaagan" by considering the interest and welfare of the above mentioned community people comprising part and parcel of the general public. ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Learned counsel for respondents 1 and 2 and learned counsel for the seventh respondent submit that respondent No.9 declined to accept the award.

2. In the light of that, the writ petition has become infructuous and, accordingly, the same is dismissed. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.Nos.24147 and 26921 of 2017 are closed.
