The petition has been filed seeking bail in connection with Crime No.218 of 2025 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 303(2) of BNS, 2023 and Section 21(1) of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act. 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners, along with seven accused, had engaged four tipper lorries to excavate gravel sand from a private land illegally, without any valid permit. The Village Administrative Officer intercepted the vehicles and a case has been registered. 3.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the grant of bail to the petitioners and submitted that the investigation is still pending and some of the accused are yet to be secured. 4.

Considering the gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed for the present.
