The petitioner who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa), 4(1)(i) of Tamilnadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.249 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.It is stated that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 1848 brandy bottles (180ml each), 725 bottles (180ml each), 260 bottles of Black Peral brandy (180 ml each), 124 bottles of King Louise brandy (180ml each), 6 bottles of Jet brandy (180ml each), 53 bottles of British Empire beer (650ml each), 72 bottles of Foster beer (650 ml each), 20 bottles of SNJ 10000 beer (650 ml each).

3.It is stated that the petitioner is the owner of the building and also owner of the contraband. It is also stated that A1 and A2 had escaped from the place.

4.Taking into consideration the large quantity of seizure, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
