ORDER

The allegation in this case is that, on 23.12.2021, in a vacant site near Ahshokapura Maharaja Oil Mill, Bavani main road, Erode, the accused persons were sitting and consuming 2 bottles of liquor of 180 ml each and the same were recovered.

The final report in the case was filed on 23.12.2021 and the same remains in the awaits summon stage till date. Page No.1 of 3

Considering the nature of allegations and also considering the fact that continuing the trial beyond the period of 4 years now, would impinge upon the right to speedy trial of the accused, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the case pending.

Accordingly, the proceedings in S.T.C.No.16 of 2022 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Erode Taluk, Erode is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case is allowed.

21.08.2025 veda electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
