ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent police to register the complaint dated 26.12.2016.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has given a complaint dated 26.12.2016 to the respondent police but no action has been taken. Thereafter, the petitioner has given further complaint directly to the Director General of Police, Mylapore, Chennai - 600 004, which is also pending. Hence, filed this present criminal original petition.

3.The learned Govt. Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police submits that as stated by the petitioner, there is no complaint pending before the respondent police. 4.On perusal of records, it is seen that the petitioner had given a complaint dated 26.12.2016 before the respondent police and after a period of six years, the petitioner has sent a complaint dated 26.10.2022 directly to the Director General of Police, Mylapore, Chennai - 600 004. Therefore, no such complaint pending on the file of the respondent police, no direction can be given to the respondent police.

5.In view of the same, the criminal original petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to lodge a fresh complaint for the same cause of action before the respondent police.
