O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to direct the respondents to give police protection to the petitioner's life and limb, in order to construct his house on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner dated 24.10.2018.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for the respondent police 1 and 2.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thiruvannamalai, vide order dated 08.10.2018 in Ka.No. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

A4/6687/2018 directed the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Thiruvannamalai to provide necessary police protection, the same has not been complied with by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Thiruvannamalai and therefore, the petitioner prays to allow this petition.

Per contra, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, on instructions would submit that the representation given by the petitioner dated 06.09.2018 was received by the 2nd respondent police and upon which, enquiry has been initiated in Cr.No.178 of 2018 and as of now the same has been closed. However, he would further submit that if the petitioner is willing to give a fresh representation, the respondent police 1 and 2, are ready to give sufficient police protection.

5. Recording the same, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent and if such representation is received, the 2nd respondent is directed to provide necessary police protection, in accordance with law.

6. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is closed.
