JUDGMENT

(Delivered by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.P.S.Raman, learned Senior Counsel appearing for Mr.D.R.Arun Kumar, learned counsel for the appellants. None appears for the respondent.

2. It is submitted by learned Senior Counsel for the appellants that installments for payment of current consumption charges could not have been granted. The circular relied by the learned Single Judge is not applicable. Learned Senior Counsel further refers to the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court in the case of The Superintending Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Anr. vs. M/s.Krishna Alloys1.

3. We have perused the said judgment. The last date for payment of installment is also over. The matter has remained only academic.

4. The impugned judgment of the learned Single Judge may not be construed as a precedent for other matters. The other matters, if filed, shall be decided on its own merits and in accordance with the law and policy as prevailing.

5. With these observations, the writ appeal stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, C.M.P.No.24175 of 2023 is closed.
