ORDER

This Suo Motu case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.)No.618 of 2025.

2. In this case, the occurrence is said to have taken place on 10.07.2014. The accused has stolen 350 meters of cable wire used to connect the pump set in the well. In respect thereof, a case was registered in Crime No.120 of 2014 and the final report was also filed in the year 2015 and the same is pending till date. Originally the accused was appearing before the trial Court for a long Page No.1 of 3

number of years. However, from the year 2024, he has become elusive and the warrant is continuously pending.

3. It is represented on behalf of the petitioner that the accused is not at all traceable. For the nature of the offence, the accused has been facing the trial from the year 2015 and now it is also mentioned that he remains untraceable even if the accused is brought to books hereafter, the same would impinge upon the right to speedy trial of the accused. Further, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the matter pending and accordingly the case in CC.No.30 of 2024 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.2 Court, Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipet stands quashed and this suo motu transfer case is disposed of.

25.08.2025 rap electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
