2. It is noticed that the impugned orders have been passed by the respondent without affording an opportunity of hearing despite the petitioner asking for personal hearing.

3. On merits, the Learned counsel for petitioner submits that denial of input tax credit on goods received cannot be countenanced in terms of Section 19 (1) as it stood during the period in dispute that is 2007-08 up to 2014-15 as the restrictions as per the amended provision came into effect only from 29th January 2016.

4. Considering the fact that the dispute pertains to the assessment year 2007-08 to 2014-15 that is for the entire period when Tamil Nadu Value Added Tax Act, 2006 was in force without the amendment, this writ petition is disposed of directly, the respondent to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. The first date of hearing of all these appeals is fixed before the respondent on 15th of December 2021. These writ petitions stands disposed of with the above observations. There shall be no order as to costs.
