O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 26.08.2024, wherein, the petitioner is seeking for settlement of the retirement benefits to the petitioner as per the CPS Account No. 7163166- Annual Accounts Statement 20232024, Government Date Centre, Tamil Nadu. 2.Heard Mr.A.Bharathi, learned counsel for petitioner, Mr.T.Seenivasan, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.L.P.Maurya, learned Standing Counsel for the 3rd respondent.

3.The case of the petitioner is that he attained the age of superannuation on 31.05.2019 and was permitted to retire from service through proceedings of the 1st respondent dated 31.05.2019. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner has not been settled with the retirement benefits and according to the petitioner, a total 2/4

amount of Rs.12,50,102/- is payable to the petitioner. The representation made by the petitioner in this regard also did not evoke any response. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 26.08.2024 and the retirement benefits to which the petitioner is entitled to shall be settled, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. If the retirement benefits are not settled within the time frame fixed by this Court, the petitioner will be entitled for payment of 6% interest from the date on which it became payable till the date of actual settlement.
