ORDER

The allegation in this case is that on 12.01.2021, the accused was in possession of 5 liquor bottles of 180 ml each. A case was registered in Crime No.46 of 2021 for alleged offences under Section 4(1)(k) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act. It appears that the quantity is within the permissible limit for personal consumption. The accused has been facing proceedings since the year 2021. Considering the factual matrix and context, any further continuation of the proceedings will impinge upon the accused's right to a Page No.1 of 3

speedy trial. No useful purpose will be served by keeping the matter pending.

2. Accordingly, the case in S.T.C.No.281 of 2021 of Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Jayamkondam Taluk, Ariyalur, stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

25.08.2025 grs electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
