ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the notice dated 01.07.2025 issued by the 1 st respondent and for a consequential direction to the 1 st respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner on 29.01.2025 and issue passport in the name of the petitioner.

2. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the 2 nd respondent, on instructions, submitted that two criminal cases are pending against the petitioner in C.C.No.258 of 2024 and C.C.No.294 of 2022 pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.IV, Ambattur.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that at the time of submitting the application, the agent did not mention about the pending criminal cases. Only during police verification, the petitioner has informed about the pending case.

4. It is seen from the records that both the criminal cases had arisen out of matrimonial disputes, where the petitioner has been arrayed as an accused in her

capacity as sister-in-law of the 1 st accused.

5. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 1 st respondent to process the application submitted by the petitioner on 29.01.2025 and issue the passport in the name of the petitioner, if she satisfies all the requirements. This process shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. This writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed. 26-08-2025 gd Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes
