Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.09.2019 and to provide electricity connection (domestic purpose) to his house situated at No.7, Annai Indira Nagar, Puthagaram, Kolathur, Chennai-600 099.

O R D E R
The petitioner herein claiming to be a resident at No.7, Annai Indira Nagar, Puthagaram, Kolathur, Chennai for the past 12 years has applied for electricity connection from the 2nd respondent. The application of the petitioner dated 26.09.2019 has not yet been considered by the 2nd respondent. Hence, the present writ petition is filed seeking Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner.
2. The learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents states that the petitioner has not produced relevant revenue documents to prove the ownership of the premises. Hence, 1/4 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
the 2nd respondent is not in a position to provide service connection to the petitioner. Since the petitioner is not the title holder of the land, the respondent under clause 27(4) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code can provide service connection to the petitioner if the petitioner come forward to give an indemnity bond.
3. In this connection, if the petitioner come forward to produce other relevant documents to show the lawful occupation of the said premises and to give an indemnity bond prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code. The application of the petitioner shall be considered by the 2nd respondent in accordance with law.
4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
