ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.The case was registered in Cr.No.1263 of 2020 dated 29.08.2020 for the alleged offence under Section 379 I.P.C. The occurrence is said to have taken place on 29.08.2020. The allegation in this case is that on 29.08.2020, when the defacto-complainant purchased six quarter bottles and the defactoPage No.1 of 3

complainant and the other witnesses consumed one each and the balance four bottles were kept in their bag, this accused came in an auto and snatched away the four quarter bottles. The case is now pending from the year 2020. 3.Considering the factual matrix and context, any further continuation of the proceedings will impinge upon the accused's right to a speedy trial. No useful purpose will be served by keeping the matter pending. 4.Accordingly, the case in C.C.No.2598 of 2021 of XXIII Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet Taluk, Chennai, stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

26.08.2025 grs electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
