ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to file final report in Crime No.5 of 2022 pending before the respondent police within a stipulated period as may be prescribed by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she got married with one John Suresh @ Suresh on 26.12.2012 and out of their wed lock a male child was born to them. It is her further case that as her husband and in-laws demanded dowry and harassed her, she lodged a complaint before the respondent and the same was registered in Crime No.5 of 2022 for the offences under section 498[A], 323, 506[1] of IPC and Section 4 of Tamilnadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. The grievance of the petitioner is that though a case has been registered in the year 2022, final report has not been filed till today. Hence, seeks aforesaid direction.

3. The learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] appearing for the respondent on instructions submitted that the investigation has been almost completed and they will file the final report within a period of four weeks.

4. In view of the above submissions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to expedite investigation and file the final report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
