The petitioner herein apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(a), 4(1)(i) of the 1/4

Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act r/w Sections 4(1)(c), 4(1)(A) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024 in Crime No.198 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that this is the second anticipatory bail petition in connection with the illegal possession of 10 bottles of Seamen's Pride brandy. He further submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offender and has 11 previous cases of a similar nature.

3. Considering the objection raised by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) and the nature of the offence, this Court finds that there is no change in circumstances and is not inclined to entertain the second anticipatory bail petition.

4. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 02.09.2025 cda 2/4
