The petitioner and his accomplice are alleged to have demanded a sum of Rs.500/- from the defacto complainant, who is a fruit vendor. When the defacto complainant refused to give money, they allegedly snatched money from him, wielded a knife and ran away.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner and submitted that the petitioner is a history-sheeter under 'C' category, having five similar cases to his name. He further submitted that the investigation in this case has been completed and final report filed. If the petitioner released on bail, there is a possibility of recurrence of such crimes.

Considering the above fact, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed for the present.
