Prayer : Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to permit the 2nd respondent to open the locker of the petitioner, having locker No.69 (SB A/c 477) maintained in Vijaya Bank, Egmore Branch, Dugar Towers, Marshalls Road, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008 in the presence of the 3rd respondent based on the letter of authorisation dated 02.05.2017 issued by the petitioner, to enable the 2nd respondent to search the said locker and complete the formalities of the search operation in accordance with law and submit a report to the Central Bureau of Investigation head quarters at New Delhi. This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner, seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to permit the 2nd respondent to open the locker of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner, having locker No.69 (SB A/c 477) maintained in Vijaya Bank, Egmore Branch, Dugar Towers, Marshalls Road, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008 in the presence of the 3rd respondent based on the letter of authorisation dated 02.05.2017 issued by the petitioner, to enable the 2nd respondent to search the said locker and complete the formalities of the search operation in accordance with law and submit a report to the Central Bureau of Investigation head quarters at New Delhi.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today i.e., on 25.01.2022, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that by efflux of time, the relief sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous and there is nothing survives for adjudication.
3. In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is dismissed as having become infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
