passed in G.O.M.S.No.7 Home (Pol.XVII) Department dated 02.01.2007 and quash the same and direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Grade - II Police Constable in the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service or Fireman in the Fire Subordinate Service in pursuance of his selection made in the year 2002-2003 with all consequential service and monetary benefits and grant him.
For Petitioner in all W.P.'s : Mr.K.Venkatramani, Senior Counsel for M.Muthappan For Respondents in all W.P.'s : Mr.K.Ravikumar, Additional Government Pleader C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioners in W.P.Nos.49196 to 49198 of 2006 have filed writ petitions seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the petitioners as Grade - II Police Constable in the Police Subordinate Service or Fireman in the Fire Subordinate Service in pursuance of their selection made in the year 2002-2003 with all consequential service benefits.
2. The petitioner in W.P.No.49196 of 2006 has also filed writ petition in W.P.No.26888 of 2007 seeking issuance of writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the first respondent in connection with the impugned order passed in G.O.M.S.No.7 Home (Pol.XVII) Department dated 02.01.2007 and quash the same and direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Grade - II Police Constable in the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service or Fireman in the Fire Subordinate Service in pursuance of his selection made in the year 2002-2003 with all consequential service and monetary benefits.
3. The petitioners have passed 10th standard and they are fully qualified for appointment to the post of Grade - II Police Constable in Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service. The second respondent invited applications from eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Grade - II Police Constable in the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service for the year 2001-02 and 2002-03. The petitioners applications were admitted and registration numbers were assigned in favour of the petitioners. After the selection process, they came out successful in the physical efficiency test. Thereafter, they were directed to appear for written test. They were also asked to appear for interview. Thereafter, they were informed that they have been selected for the said post. However, they have not been issued with the
appointment order. Hence, the petitioners have filed these writ petitions.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that on 20.05.2006, the fourth respondent informed the petitioners their appointment were under consideration of the Government without passing order. However, the petitioners hurriedly approached this Court.
5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the decision taken by the Government will be communicated to the petitioner as early as possible and liberty may be given to the petitioners to challenge the same, if they are so aggrieved.
6. In view of the above submission, those writ petitions are disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the decision taken by the Government.
