ORDER

This Suo Motu case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.)No.618 of 2025.

2. The allegation in this case is that on 25.01.2014, the accused is alleged to have picked a sum of Rs.500/- from the pocket of the defacto complainant. It is now stated that both the accused remained elusive and the warrant is pending all along. The defacto complainant has also gone abroad Page No.1 of 3

there is no likelihood of any meaningful trial being conducted hereafter. Even if the accused are brought to face the trial, the same would impinge upon their right to speedy trial and no useful purpose will be served by keeping the matter pending.

3. Accordingly, the case in CC.No.600080 of 2016 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Ariyalur Taluk, Ariyalur shall stands quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stands disposed of. 26.08.2025 rap electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
