ORDER

This Suo Motu case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.)No.618 of 2025.

2. This case is registered in Cr. No. 251 of 2022 dated 06.07.2022, for the alleged offence(s) under Section 5 and 7(3) of the Lotteries Regulation Act, 1998, regarding the allegation of illegally selling lottery tickets. Page No.1 of 3

3. Considering the nature of the allegation and the accused facing the case since 2022, further continuation of the trial would impinge upon the right to a speedy trial of the accused. Continuing with the case would serve no useful purpose. Accordingly, STC.No.248 of 2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Jayamkondam Taluk, Ariyalur stands quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer case is disposed of.

26.08.2025 rap electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
