This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to provide protection to ensure safety and security to petitioner' life, property and construction of steel rolling mill in the lands measuring 2.27 1⁄4 acres S.F.No.82/1E, Erusanur Pudupalayam Village, Sankagiri Taluk, 2/6
Salem District by considering petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2023 to carry on lawful business which is guaranteed under Article 19(1)(g) of the Constitution.
2. Petitioner herein, who is in the process of establishing the steel plant alleged to have been disturbed by private respondents (6 to 8), under the garb of environmental protection. Representation given to the police regarding vandalism committed by them had not been properly considered and further apprehending damage to the property, representation is given seeking protection.
3. Mr.S.Udaya Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, petitioner had sought for police protection vide representation dated 14.10.2023 and if any necessity to provide protection, same will be provided to the petitioner.
4. Recording the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this Writ petition is disposed of giving direction to the respondent police to act in accordance with law, if any representation is sought by the petitioner seeking police protection. If the private 3/6
respondents are aggrieved of any violation, they should resort to legal action and no act of violence should be committed by them. If such act comes to the knowledge of the police, appropriate action to be taken. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
