Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other writ, order or direction in the nature of a writ, directing the respondents herein to consider the candidature of the petitioners herein for appointment to the post of computer instructor with reference to G.O.Ms.No.122 School Education (S.E 2(2)) Department dated 02/06/2017, issued by the first respondent, and proceeding Na Ka No.75050/V1/E2 /2017 dated 24/08/2017, issued by the fourth respondent and subject to their qualification and eligibility to appointment them as computer instructor along with their counter parts in School Education Department.

The petitioners are Secondary Grade Teachers. G.O.Ms.No.122 School Education (S.E/2(2) Department dated 02.06.2017 had sanctioned 765 posts of 'Computer Instructor' by surrendering an equal number of surplus posts of B.T. Assistants that were lying vacant in the School Education Department.

2. According to the petitioners, they hold all requisite qualifications as per the aforesaid Government Order and are entitled to be appointed to the posts.

3. Accordingly, representations have been made by the petitioner on 29.08.2018 and 29.11.2017 seeking appointment to the post of computer instructor which was duly supported by a representation by Tamil Nadu All Teachers Association (TATA) dated 28.11.2017.

4. Mr.A.Zakkir Hussain, learned Government Advocate, who appears for the respondent does not wish to file a counter. He fairly states that the first respondent may be directed to consider the representations and dispose the same within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Seeing as the representations have been filed as early as in August and November, 2017, it stands to reason that the same be disposed as expeditiously as possible.

6. Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to afford ample and adequate opportunity to the petitioners and pass appropriate orders on the representations within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of conclusion of the personal hearing.

No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
