The petitioner seeks bail in Crime No.67 of 2023, registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 12 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. The petitioner had been taken into custody on 04.10.2023.

2. It is stated by the learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) for the respondent that the victim child is aged just 13 years and the petitioner is aged 27 years and a neighbour and had passed obscene comments to the victim child, by both behaviour and messages.

3. It is also stated that the statement under Section 164 Cr.P.C., of the victim child had not yet been recorded. At this stage, it may not be appropriate to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
