This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to provide adequate police protection to the petitioners 2 and 3 by considering the first petitioner's representation dated 16.04.2024.

2. Heard Ms.V.Sounthariya Meenakshi, learned counsel for petitioners and Mr.L.Baskaran, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing on behalf of the first respondent.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for first respondent submitted that if fresh representation is made by the petitioners, the same will be enquired and a decision will be taken with regard to providing police protection.

4. Considering the submissions made by learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), there shall be a direction to the petitioners to give a fresh representation to the first respondent. The first respondent, on receipt of the same, shall conduct an enquiry by issuing notice to all the interested parties and shall take a decision within a period of four (4) weeks. 2/4

5. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
